This guide uses the text font conventions described in the following table.

Text conventions

Font Purpose

Note Emphasizes information to improve product use.

Important Indicates important information or instructions that must

be followed.

Caution Indicates how to avoid equipment damage or faulty

application.

Warning Issues warnings to avoid personal injury.

italic emphasis Shows book titles, special terms, or emphasis.

bold emphasis Shows strong emphasis.

command Indicates a command that must be written as is.

For example:

config

[parameter] Indicates a parameter associated with a command. This

parameter must be written as is.

For example:

source [auto | dhcp | ppp | user]

<value> Indicates the syntax description for a value.

For example:

config system info unit <name>

In the previous example, <name> is the description of what

is required for this field. A real name must be entered.

For example:

config system info unit BSGX4e
