Conﬁguring AppleTalk Zone Filters

This section describes how to add or delete zone ﬁlters from an interface’s zone

ﬁlter list.

Because the way you conﬁgure zone ﬁlters may affect your network performance,

refer to the section “Using AppleTalk Zone Filters” in Chapter 2 before

proceeding.

Adding Zones to the Zone Filter List

To add zones to an AppleTalk zone ﬁlter list, begin at the Conﬁguration Manager

window (F

igure 4-1) and proceed as follows:

1. Select Protocols➔AppleTalk➔Interfaces.

The AT Interface Conﬁguration window appears (F

igure 4-3).

2. Click on Zone Filter.

The AppleTalk Zone Filter Conﬁguration window appears (F

igure 4-5). It lists

the zone ﬁlters already conﬁgured for the router.

Note: Any changes you make to the zone ﬁlter list may not be immediately

apparent to other AppleTalk routers on the network. For example, if you add a

new ﬁlter, it may take time for other routers to learn about the new network

information, or to time out the network information that is no longer being

advertised because of the new ﬁlter.
