Loading Site Manager Software

Load Site Manager software on the SPARCstation as follows:

• Mount the CD-ROM.

• Install the software.

• Unmount the drive.

Mounting the CD-ROM

To mount the CD-ROM, insert the appropriate CD and drive tray into the

CD-ROM drive.

The Volume Manager automatically mounts the CD onto /cdrom/release_1400. If

the CD does not automatically mount, stop the vold daemon and manually mount

the CD by following these instructions:

At the password prompt, enter your root password.

Display the daemon’s process ID by entering:

ps -ef

grep vold

If there is a process running for the

vold

daemon, enter:

kill

<process_id>

If a subdirectory or file system does not already exist for the CD, create

one by entering:

mkdir /cdrom

Mount the CD by entering:

mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/

<cd_address>

/cdrom

Note:

The command for mounting the CD-ROM varies depending on your

system, for example, the number of CD-ROM drives. If the suggested mount

command fails, consult your operating system documentation.
