Computer Telephony Integration

A set of hardware and software components that allows computers to access and

control telephones.

TAPI service provider

A set of commands developed by the telephone manufacturer that interprets TAPI

commands into a form that is understood by the telephone system.

Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI)

A set of programming tools developed by Microsoft that provides a standard set of

commands used to control any telephone. For most telephone systems, a TAPI

service provider is required to use TAPI.
