Edit the Resource Name and Parent Name parameters.

Parameter: Resource Name

Default: None

Options: None

Function: Speciﬁes the fully qualiﬁed name (NETID.NAME) of the resource to be

added to the local directory. By default, the NETID portion of the name is

the previously conﬁgured Local Node Name parameter, as speciﬁed on

the Edit APPN Global Parameters window (F

igure 3-2).

Instructions: Enter the fully qualiﬁed APPN resource (node or LU) name in the format

(NETID.NAME). Type up to 8 characters for the network ID name; follow

with a period; then a control point name with up to 8 characters. You must

use uppercase characters only and the ﬁrst character must be

non-numeric. Blank spaces (leading, trailing, and embedded) are not

allowed in the node name. For example, NETWORKA.SYSTEMA is a

valid entry for the Parent Name parameter.

Use the asterisk (*) wildcard to indicate a wildcard entry. Refer to

beginning of this section for information on using the wildcard with

directory entries.
