Understanding Version 10.0 Trafﬁc Filters

Read this appendix if you previously conﬁgured trafﬁc ﬁlters using the Version 5

Conﬁguration Editor tool, and you want to convert (re-create) those ﬁlters using

the Conﬁguration Manager tool accessible under Site Manager.

This appendix provides

• A list of differences between Version 5 and Version 10.0 trafﬁc ﬁlters

• Instructions for converting Version 5 trafﬁc ﬁlters to Version 10.0

To create Version 10.0 trafﬁc ﬁlters that are identical to your existing Version 5

trafﬁc ﬁlters, you must

• Understand the differences between Version 5 ﬁlters and Version 10.0 ﬁlters,

especially concerning ﬁlter precedence levels.

• Identify the ﬁelds and ranges of trafﬁc you want to drop, accept, forward,

direct, or log.

Once you have this information, you can use the Conﬁguration Manager to create

the necessary ﬁlters. Refer to Conﬁguring Trafﬁc Filters and Protocol

Prioritization for details on creating the ﬁlters.
