Configuring an Area Border Router
Each area is connected to the backbone by one or more border routers. In
F
igure 7-1, for example, R3 is a border router connecting Area 0.0.0.1 to the
backbone. A border router can have connections to multiple areas. In F
igure 7-6,
for example, Border router 2 has an interface to a network in Area B and an
interface to a network in Area C.
