Setting the SCR
The sustainable cell rate (SCR) is the upper bound on the conforming average rate
of an individual WAN SVC or control VC. The average rate is the number of cells
transmitted over the link divided by the duration of the connection. The duration
of the connection is the total amount of time it takes from connection setup to
connection release.
By default, the SCR is 4716 cells/s for both the transmitting and receiving
direction. Table 8-2
lists the valid ranges for each Nortel Networks ATM router.
To disable the SCR, set the value to 0.
