Defining an Area
You define an OSPF by setting parameters as described under the following
topics:
Supplying an ID for the Area
Each area has a unique identifier. You can use the BCC to supply the ID of the
OSPF area you want to define.
Navigate to the OSPF global prompt and enter:
area area-id
area-id
area-id is an area identifier in dotted-decimal notation.
To display area parameters and their current values, enter:
info
OSPF displays all area attributes and their current values.
For example, the following command sequence creates OSPF area 0.0.0.0 and
displays area attributes:
ospf# area area-id 0.0.0.0
area/0.0.0.0# info
on ospf
state enabled
area-id 0.0.0.0
stub false
authentication-type none
stub-metric 1
import-summaries true
area/0.0.0.0#
