Customizing Synchronous and Asynchronous Lines

Parameter: Signal Mode
Default: Balanced
Options: Balanced
| Unbalanced
Function: Specifies balanced or unbalanced transmission. Balanced transmission
uses two conductors to carry signals; unbalanced uses one conductor to
carry a signal, with a ground providing the return path.
Instructions: Set this parameter to either Balanced or Unbalanced, depending on the
signaling mode of the connected device.

Parameter: RTS Enable
Default: Disable
Options: Enable
| Disable
Function: Enables or disables the detection of RTS signals on this interface.
Instructions: Set this parameter to Enable if the connected device (for example, a
modem or a KG84A cryptographic device) uses RTS/CTS flow control.
