Identifying the Local AS
Each autonomous system in the internet has a unique AS ID.
You can use the BCC or Site Manager to supply the ID of the AS in which the
BGP router is located.
Using the BCC
Navigate to the BGP prompt and enter:
local-as
<local_as>
local_as
is the number of the AS in which the router is located.
For example, the following command specifies AS 5 as the local AS:
/jointfilesconvert/106988/bgp#
local-as 5
/jointfilesconvert/106988/bgp#
Using Site Manager
Site Manager Procedure
You do this System responds
1. In the Configuration Manager window,
choose
Protocols
.
The Protocols menu opens.
2. Choose
IP
. The IP menu opens.
3. Choose
BGP
. The BGP menu opens.
4. Choose
BGP Global
. The Edit BGP Global Parameters window
opens.
5. Set the
BGP
Local AS
parameter. Click
on
Help
or see the parameter description
on page A-3
.
6. Click on
OK
. Site Manager returns you to the
Configuration Manager window.
