Conﬁguring EGP on the Router

Before you can conﬁgure EGP on the router, you must perform the following

operations to ensure that the slot is properly set up for IP:

1. Open a conﬁguration ﬁle.

2. Specify a slot and conﬁgure a link module on the slot (if the conﬁguration ﬁle

is a local mode ﬁle).

3. Select a link or net module connector and conﬁgure a circuit on the connector

or conﬁgure a WAN circuit if this connector requires one.

For instructions on performing these operations, see Conﬁguring Routers.

Once you have conﬁgured a circuit, you are ﬁnished with the Add Circuit window.

1. Click on OK in the Add Circuit window.

The Select Protocols window opens.

2. Select IP and EGP from the Select Protocols window and click on OK.

Site Manager displays the IP conﬁguration window.

3. Edit the IP window as described in “Conﬁguring a Circuit and Adding an

IP Interface” on page 2-32. Click on OK.

The EGP Neighbors Parameters window opens (Figure 6-9).

4. Edit the neighbor parameters and click on OK.

Editing EGP Global Parameters

When you edit the EGP global parameters, you are editing parameters that affect

EGP on the entire router.

To edit EGP global parameters, begin at the Conﬁguration Manager window and

complete the following steps:

1. Select Protocols➔IP➔EGP➔Global.

The Edit EGP Global Parameters window opens (Figure 6-6).

2. Edit those parameters you wish to change.

3. Click on OK to exit the window and save your changes when you are

ﬁnished.
