Configuring HSSI Services

The BCC commands in this chapter assume that you have started BCC from a
local console attached to the router. (See Using the Bay Command Console.) To
start BCC, log in to the router from your console, then perform the following
steps:
1.
At the console command-line prompt (
>
), type:
>
bcc
A series of short instructions appears. The prompt changes to bcc>.
2.
At the
bcc
prompt, type:
bcc>
config
After a short message, the screen displays the box prompt.
3.
At the
box
prompt, type:
box>
show config
The console displays the current router configuration, including installed
modules and protocols.
4.
At the
box
prompt, choose a HSSI module, slot number, and connector
number from the configuration by typing:
box>
hssi slot 2 connector 1
The prompt changes to hssi/2/1/#.
5.
At the
hssi/2/1
prompt, use the BCC commands that allow you to
configure the HSSI parameters described in this chapter.
Enabling or Disabling HSSI Lines
By default, the router enables HSSI line services when you add the circuit. You
can enable or disable this interface without moving the cables.
Using the BCC
state
variable
For example:
hssi/2/1#
state enabled
hssi/2/1#
state disabled
